October News

Welcome to October. We are working on simple addition and subtraction facts. Please practice these at home- making flashcards is a great way to help your child remember them. We also have reading groups rolling! We have seen great growth and progress in these last couple of weeks.  In science we are in the middle of a weather unit. Please help your child by holding conversations about the characteristics of the day's weather. What types of activities can you do in weather like today? What should we wear?  Most importantly, what do you predict the weather will be like tomorrow?  In light of recent events, please make sure your child is dressed for the day's weather when they come to school.

Please continue to send in homework on Monday's. There is no homework grade, however I am keeping record of completion.  Homework is an excellent way to teach your child to carve out special time at home to rethink the day's lessons. It is important to begin working on home study skills early, to instill good practice for later in their education.

I look forward to seeing everyone at back to school night in the upcoming week.
